Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is situated in Central Europe between Germany and Slovakia. The country borders with Poland to the north and with Austria to the south. The Czech Republic has 10,5 mil. inhabitants, the largest minorities are Slovaks, Poles and Germans.
The Czech Republic emerged 9th century by unification of the Premyslids clan. The most important personages were Saint Wenceslav (10th century), Charles IV. (14th century), Francis Palacky (19th century) and of course Thomas Garrigue Masaryk the progenitor and the first president of the independent Czechoslovakia.
The country is composed of three regions Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Each region has an indispensable position in the Czech national symbology.
